AUEWC Association of Universal Eclectic Wiccan Clergypersons The Association of Universal Eclectic Wiccan Clergypersons, affectionately called "ah-youk," is the governing body of the Church of Universal Eclectic Wicca AUEWC membership is open to elected leaders of UEW, Lay ministers and ordained priests, and single representatives of egalitarian covens. These distinctions are explained in the Clergy handbook. Persons may become UEW Clergy through classes with an accredited UEW teacher, including learning through The Coven of the Far Flung Net, an online learning circle. Duties of AUEWC members include outreach, public relations and more, as well as the day to day operations of various covens, temples and organizations of UEW. Membership in AUEWC is required to officiate as a UEW clergyperson at weddings, funerals, etc, that require a legalized officiant. While some states or counties may give AUEWC members a hassle concerning legal documentation, as a lawful, legal association of Clergy, they have little or no legal basis for such harassment and will be sued if they refuse to cooperate with the laws of the USA.HOWEVER membership is not the same as ordination. Non-ordained people and lay ministers are members of AUEWC AUEWC is only authorized to act within the United States and its territories. This does not prevent members from acting internationally, but does not assure cooperation from international municipalities. Membership in AUEWC is free, but does include a one-time filing fee of $5.00. This fee is subject to change. Application forms: AUEWC
